#Singapore NEA EcoFriend Awards 2017: 10 Individuals Recognised For Achievements, Commitment Protecting #Environment

7 Another notable award recipient this year, also under the Educational Institutions category, is Mr Heng Chong Yong, Head of Department, Partnership at Bukit View Secondary School (BVSS). He generated interest in environment protection among his students through interactive programmes such as the EcoTrail @ BVSS. In 2006, Mr Heng introduced an environmental module which was extended to the whole school through the Clean Energy and Environmental Technology Applied Learning Programme. He also developed a 4P (Promote, Participate, Propagate, emPower) framework for the Junior OUtstanding Leaders in Energy for Sustainability (JOULES) Programme he introduced in 2016. The 42-year-old also enhanced the learning experience for his students by conceptualising and creating numerous learning spaces and features within the school compound, such as an eco-garden which contains a butter...
