29 June 2014 marked the one-year anniversary of the Total Debt Servicing Ratio (TDSR) framework. Apart from the slowdown in sales transaction volume, the market has also shown a unique set of characteristics. TDSR, which prevents buyers from over-stretching their ability to repay their property loans , has led to a shift in market activities in search of more affordable homes. This affordability constraint is in turn reflected in the general shrinkage of home sizes.
