One of the major infrastructure projects expected to stimulate property prices in the metropolitan Kuala Lumpur area is the upcoming Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit system, slated for completion from 2017 onwards. The system will consist of three lines, with the proposed MRT Circle Line that loops around KL and connects with existing systems, receiving the most attention. This new line will link areas such as Mid Valley, Mont Kiara, Sentul Timur and Ampang to financial areas such KLCC and the proposed KL International Financial District. Property prices are expected to appreciate the most in locations closest to the upcoming MRT stations, and newer developments such as KL Ecocity have already been marketed at higher prices due to its increased convenience.
