Expansion of upgrading scheme depends on budget - PropertyGuru Singapore

The Home Improvement Programme currently applies to flats built up to 1986 that have not undergone the Main Upgrading Programme. The government’s fiscal position and budget availability will have to be taken into consideration in deciding whether to expand the Home Improvement Programme (HIP), National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said in Parliament on Tuesday, 8 November. His statement was made in response to a question from MP Lee Bee Wah on whether the HIP could be extended to flats built after 1986 when they reach 30 years. Introduced in 2007, the scheme applies to flats built up to 1986 that have not undergone the Main Upgrading Programme.
