South Korea Digest: Network Parties get popular, govt to develop new mobile OS, & more @OnSuccess1

The Ministry of Knowledge Economy announced on 22nd August that they are making a Korean mobile OS amidst fears that Korean companies might be threatened after Google acquired Motorola Mobility. They plan to build a joint consortium for this. The government not only plans to include Samsung and LG into this project, but also foreign businesses, intending to procure as many users as possible. Many from the industry commented “the government seems to be taking mobile OS development much too simply, especially since there are many issues that are patents related.”
