New blog post: Five Cloud Computing Trends for 2012

An oft-lamented disadvantage to cloud hosting is the level of security it offers. Since there is no standard of best practices, security between providers can be hit or miss. This year, we believe that industry leaders will be working together to organize and solidify security and governance standards (1). This collaboration will also result in the eventual elimination of cloud computing “imposters”—companies that promise services that amount to little more than “cloudwashing.” As cloud computing becomes standardized in technology as well as in concept, providers will be pressed to provide a certain degree of transparency to potential clients and abandon deceptive marketing practices.
